The Welshpool Winter Festival sees the town’s Broad Street and High Street full of stalls and entertainment.
Welshpool is a busy market town located in Powys of mid Wales. The town is located 4 miles away from the Wales-England border and is low lying on the River Severn, surrounded by the rolling hills of Montgomeryshire and the unspoiled countryside of Mid Wales. Events included at the Welshpool Winter Festival are the craft fair at the town hall, charity and community stalls, a market village and Christmas street market.
The event includes books, toys, plants, ethnic jewellery, music, CDs, cakes and more. Entertainment is held in and around the town hall, a variation of artists can be found on Broad Street, including balloon modeling, face painting and music such as the one-man band.
The night before the Winter Festival, hundreds of people turn up for the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights. A great event for the kids as Santa is also there!
