Snowdonia Abersoch brings you WakeStock 2013 on the 12th, 13th and 14th of July. Europe’s largest wakeboard and music festival! One of the best music and sporting events in the UK, this is a party you don’t want to miss. The line up has been decided so book tickets fast.

150 years –A Steam Odyssey will take place from the 3rd-6th of May. Observe, learn about and travel on steam locomotives. This event celebrates North West Wales being home to the first successful narrow gauge steam locomotives and having some of the last working industrial narrow gauge steam vehicles. Both are still in steam.  On Friday the 3rd there will be round-trips from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Saturday at Ffestiniog railway is all about ‘Horses to Engines’ and Sunday is ‘global Narrow-Gauge Expansion’.

If steam trains aren’t to your taste there is much more happening over the next couple of months if you are staying in Snowdonia hotels near Caernarfon. On the 4th of May in Bangor from 10am-4pm there is a day in the woods for nature lovers to network and learn. On the same day there is an 8 mile walk organised by Bangor Bethesda Ramblers. The walk runs from Aber along the North Wales path to Llanfairfechan, returning on the costal path. A quiet day in the woods or a stirring walks with beautiful views. Take your pick.

If art is your thing then you won’t want to miss ‘You’. The exhibit began in Mostyn gallery in Llandudno on the 27th of April and runs until July 7th. It addresses the odd relationship between artist and viewer and may present itself in unusual ways. Foodies can look forward to Bangor’s Continental Food Market on the 16th of May. It will take place on the Seafront all day.

Spring is rounded off with the first Llandudno Air show is happening on the second May bank holiday weekend Saturday 25th. The show begins at 12, is free for all to watch and supports the military charities RAF benevolent fund and Life Beyond Sight Loss.

If you plan to take a holiday in North Wales and are staying in Snowdonia hotels this summer June will not disappoint. ‘The Wise Woman & the Surgeon’ runs on the 1st-2nd of June in Conwy high Street. Many weird curiosities will be revealed showing the differences between Tudor era surgical techniques and folk medicine. The 9th of June brings us a 3 mile evening walk in Bangor run by the Ramblers and a sculpture exhibition in Bangor castle walled garden on the 15th. If you’re on a cycling holiday you won’t want to miss the ETAPE Eryri cycle event on the 12th of June. You can choose distances of 47, 76 or 103 miles!
