North Wales, or Gogledd Cymru as in Welsh, is the northernmost area of Wales in the United Kingdom. North Wales is divided into three regions, upper and lower Gwynedd and Anglesey.

North Wales is full of history and is a beautiful place to explore; with many ancient ruins and castles to visit. Some popular towns, such as Conwy, are surrounded by old castle walls which can be walked around.

North Wales is seen as a stronghold of Welsh culture, nationality and of course, the Welsh language. North Wales has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites (with another being in the South), the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and canal and collectively, the Edwardian castles and town walls of the region (found in Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Conwy and Harlech).

North Wales has a very interesting landscape and attracts millions of visitors each year. On of the favourite places in North Wales is the National Park of Snowdonia – which is also home to the largest mountain in England and Wales; Snowdon.
