When you stay at bed and breakfasts Conwy, you could be forgiven for just wanting to curl up this month to avoid the seasonal blues. If you fancy venturing outside though, you’re sure to be in for a few treats in the local county.
Conwy itself has a simple take on activities with art and nature being a couple of the highlights. Starting on the 11th, the Open Exhibition held by The Royal Cambrian Academy is a great display of underrated artists and medias with much in the way of interest. A stroll during the ongoing wildlife walks are also not to be missed this month.
A 10 minute journey will see you in Llandudno with the emphasis again falling on the arts on the North Wales coast. Venue Cymru sees many excellent productions taking place on its esteemed stage with renditions of Scrooge and Swan Lake sure to be superb. An occasion sure to be fantastic for the kids too is the Cyw – Take pART event which is fun for all those who are a fan of the hit S4C show. Have a little song and dance and then meet the cast afterwards and there’s no excuse to not get involved as it’s totally free!
Another seaside resort worth visiting in early 2014 is Colwyn Bay and much like Llandudno, it has a lot of artistic entertainment for you and the family. There’s a whole array of different films showing with the new Hunger Games and The Hobbit available throughout the month. If you’re after something a little more sporty then get over to Plas Eirias as the thrilling Six Nations Rugby Championship for the Under-20’s gets underway. Booking a ticket for this event may help you see the new Sam Warburton or George North in the flesh!
